Microsoft Office Mobile ist derzeit für Windows Mobile verfügbar und erfreut sich dort einer großen Beliebtheit. Wie nun aus einem internen Dokument von Microsoft hervorgeht, will man in Redmond office Mobile auf allen großen Plattformen anbieten. Im Original heißt es: “In addition to the current Windows Mobile 6.5 and upcoming WM7 clients, with the recently announced alliance between Microsoft and Nokia we are working to bring Office Mobile to hundreds of millions of Nokia smartphone owners, followed by other leading Smartphone platforms.”
Gemeint sind damit unter anderem folgende Plattformen: iOS, Android und auch RIM. Mit dieser Multiplattform will Microsoft erreichen, dass möglichst viele Microsoft Office nutzen um somit den Marktanteil zu steigern bzw. zu halten.
Wann genau die Veröffentlichung ist, ist noch unbekannt, es bestehen nicht einma Gerüchte. Denkbar ist allerdings, dass es noch ein Jahr dauern wird.
